Nokia has decided to give new color for the Nokia’s E55 that was released last week. The handset is now available in black, white, and a new red color. This ultra thin smartphone is touted as “the world’s most compact messaging device”. Dialaphone UK has reviewed the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic phone which made its first appearance in the movie ‘Dark Knight’. The phone was basically launched to compete with the iPhone, it features a 3.2 inch touchscreen, 3.2 Megapixel camera, 3G, accelerometer and all the usual stuff you would expect from a high-end multimedia phone. The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic may have been a long time coming, but it was worth the wait! Not only is it a very sleek looking little handset but it has a very impressive line-up of features, raising its status to the very upper levels of the midrange and challenging those above it with its more reasonable price. We’re going to see a lot of these little phones out and about and it bodes very well for 2009’s big Nokia release, the N97.

I guess I didn’t know that the Mobile Gaming market is growing, but I suppose it was only a matter of time before somebody made joysticks for mobile phone games. In case of the BGP100 Bluetooth Game Pad, these controllers are wireless.

The BGP100 has a 4-way pad for directional control, and seven programmable buttons for whatever else the game requires. As you can see, these controllers can affix themselves to the side of the mobile device with the use of included rubber strips.

Just think of it as turning your mobile phone into a mobile gaming device like a PSP or DS, and the BGP100 is also designed for pocket PCs as well as Pocket PC Phones. The BGP100 supports a number of platforms including Window Mobile 2003, plus the Symbian Series.

As for power, the gamepads are powered by a 1.5V AAA battery, which is good enough for three and a half hours of continual use. As far as the range is concerned, it is about 55mm with the smartphone or Pocket PC in the middle, but it can also be used from a larger distance with the Bluetooth-enabled mobile unit sitting on a desk.

Regardless of what you think of pure touchscreen devices, most can agree that the addition of a touchscreen is a welcome addition to nearly any phone out there due to its convenience. With that in mind, information on a new device from Nokia has emerged out of China that may excite a few people. Named the 6208 Classic, the device apparently runs on a version of the S40 platform that has been altered to accommodate the physical limitations of a touchscreen without adversely affecting the physical alphanumeric keypad. With that said, it’s a shame this phone is nowhere close to being a looker but we still want to check it out. As for the specs, here’s what has been reported so far:

We’re not willing to bet that the 6208 Classic will be officially sold outside of China, but hopefully some more capable devices with similar input methods get released in this part of the world in the near future.

Christmas is coming, and Christmas is coming, and as the goose is worried about her job prospects in the downturn, Nokia has decided to increase its efforts in the budget phone sector. If you’re not keen on the fantastic Nokia 6300, the 7210 Supernova might fit the bill. It costs about £98 SIM-free from the Nokia shop and will hopefully come out soon on a pay as you go contract.

Boasting a slim casing and colourful details with an 80s vibe, this is a stylish phone that’s not ashamed to rock some electric blue or pink. The 7210’s interface is simple and easy to use, with large icons and straightforward features — it’s no iPhone, but it’s not trying to be.

There’s an FM radio, a 2-megapixel camera (no flash), an expandable memory slot that can hold up to 2GB, and a 2.5mm headphone jack, which is annoying, since it means you’ll have to buy special headphones or use the ones in the box. Web access is restricted to GPRS, so don’t expect lightning speed.

While we’re not overwhelmed by this simple little phone it’ll fit comfortably in your pocket and it does what it says on the tin. Some users may find the keypad a little flat, but with some practice you do get used to it. Considering the lack of high-end features we hope to see the price come down next year. Expect a full review soon.

Our friends from Finland recently unveiled the Nokia N97 at the Nokia World 2008 conference in Barcelona this week. This quad-band world phone is HSDPA compatible, with integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

The N97 is designed for the social networking generation with Web 2.0 compatibility, which can support streaming flash videos. One of the most prominent features is what the company calls “social location” which can enable integrated A-GPS sensors with an electric compass to automatically update users’ social networks, or let them share their location via photos or videos with friends.

The home screen can be personalized with widgets of favorite Web and social networking sites. Also included in this little package is the Nokia Music Store, Nokia Maps, and the N-Gage gaming platform.

The phone has a 3.5 inch screen that is a touchscreen with 640 x 360 (16:9) display, as well as a slide out QWERTY keyboard. Other features include a 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, plus dual LED flash that can shoot stills and record 30fps video. As for memory, it has 32GB worth of onboard memory, but if you want more, you can use the 16GB microSD card.

The N97 costs about $697, but probably won’t be available until around the second quarter of next year.

When paired with a compatible 3G network that uses UMTS 2100 MHz connectivity (found in Europe and Asia), you’ll enjoy a variety of feature-rich wireless services with speeds up to 384 Kbps–from data connectivity to your office to multimedia streaming, and take advantage of simultaneous voice and data services. In the United States and foreign territories where 2100 MHz 3G networks are not available, you’ll continue to receive data service via EDGE network (depending on network compatibility).

Phone Features
The Nokia N82 has a large 2.4-inch screen with a 240 x 320-pixel resolution and support for 16.7 million colors. It comes with a new content driven 3D multimedia menu and includes a convenient orientation sensor that rotates the user interface automatically between horizontal and portrait mode. It’s based on S60 software operating on the Symbian OS, enabling you to personalize the N82 by choosing from the Ovi family of Nokia internet services, including Nokia Music Store, N-Gage games and Nokia Maps. The phone has a 100 MB internal memory, and it’s expandable via MicroSD memory cards (up to 4 GB in size).

The Nokia N82 actually has two cameras, a high resolution camera on the back of the device (the main camera in landscape mode) and a lower resolution camera on the front (CIF resolution, 352 x 288). The main 5-megapixel camera on the back of the N95 supports an image capture resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels, and it features a focus range of 10cm (4 inches) to infinity, up to a 20x digital zoom for still images, and a Xenon flash. (Note that the low-resolution camera on the front can provide two-way video calling; however, at this time no U.S. carrier offers this service.)

Fast camera activation, autofocus with a dedicated autofocus assist lamp, fast reloading between shots and DVD-like quality video capture make it a truly convenient and credible tool for capturing and telling your life stories. You can also capture crisp videos at up to a 640 x 480-pixel resolution at 30 frames per second (fps) in 24-bit/16.7-million colors. Images are saved as JPEG files while videos are recorded in the MPEG-4 file format with the .mp4 file extension, or in the 3GPP file format with the .3gp file extension (sharing quality). Photos and video clips can be enjoyed on a compatible television thanks to the device’s TV out feature and support for Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) technology.

With high speed Wi-Fi connectivity and one-click upload to online communities, the N82 makes sharing your experiences and discoveries easy. When viewing a picture or video, simply one press of a button starts uploading it while you carry on using the other phone functions.

The integrated A-GPS and preinstalled Nokia Maps help you explore and locate new places, whether in another country or just around the corner. With access to more than 15 million points of interest, you can locate and navigate to the most interesting sights, bars or restaurants wherever you are. You can also send map excerpts and routes to friends by MMS or save map screen shots to the gallery.

Take your media with you when you’re out on the go. With the built-in RealPlayer software, you can stream and download your favorite content onto the N82, giving you access to the latest news, sports, and entertainment updates. Or sync up with your PC and play the music and movies stored on your hard drive. It’s compatible with a wide variety of digital audio formats (including MP3, AAC, WMA, and secure WMA). You can listen to your favorite radio programs via the integrated FM radio, and the Visual Radio feature lets you see information about songs or artists.

This phone provides Bluetooth version 2.0 wireless connectivity with EDR (enhanced data rate), and includes profiles for communication headset, handsfree car kits, and audio/video remote control. With the A2DP Bluetooth profile, you can stream your music to a pair of compatible Bluetooth stereo headphones.

Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) technology means that the Nokia N82 will discover, interact with, and control other compatible home electronic devices.
