2009 is the year of the Moto for Verizon; more upcoming handsets revealed

When our ninjas get going they don’t stop until the job is done. Yesterday your pals here at BGR gave you an exclusive preview of four tasty upcoming Motorola handsets – codenamed FLASH, RUSH 2, CALGARY and INFERNO. As sexy as they are, you didn’t think we’d stop there did you? Today we have three more exclusive looks for you and just like yesterday, each of these handsets comes bearing a codename and a date with Verizon Wireless sometime next year. First and foremost is the NIAGRA seen above. It looks almost like an updated RIZR and shows off the same sharp angles seen yesterday on the FLASH. The slider opens to reveal a RAZR-like keypad and speaking of the RAZR, we wouldn’t be surprised if we finally see the RAZR line get a more substantial refresh that echos the shapes and lines seen here on the NIAGRA. Hit the jump for a look at the next two handsets.

Vertu Boucheron 150 Phone is Made of Solid Gold

The Vertu Boucheron 150 cellphone might just be the most luxurious phone in the world. It’s certainly the tackiest. Carved out of a solid gold, it took over 1000 hours to cut the shape, then another 700 for hand polishing and an additional 500 hour to hand build. The keypad is made of sapphire crystals. Costs a small fortune to buy. Certainly money doesn’t buy taste because the gold phone is Fugly with a capital F.

Samsung Eternity arrives from AT&T

AT&T seems to be kept pretty busy these days with a slew of new cell phone releases, and the Samsung Eternity is yet another handset from the wireless carrier. This highly advanced touchscreen phone takes pride in itself being a multimedia centric device which is one of the best in its class, although it remains to be seen whether it is able to challenge the iPhone 3G’s dominance or not. At the very least, you’ll be able to stay on par with your entertainment options as the Samsung Eternity supports AT&T Mobile TV, and each purchase comes with a 30-day free trial for new AT&T Mobile TV subscribers to get them started (hooked should be the operative word instead, I say).
