In the past week or so that the iPhone 4 has been available, there’s been one major thing holding people back from from getting one. No, not the antenna issue. Instead, more people I talk to say they’re simply waiting for the white one to come out. Sadly, that’s not happening until the end of this month. But if you have cash to burn and don’t mind taking some risks, you can get one right now. Sort of.

The site WhiteiPhone4Now.com is promising to make you “one of the first in the world to own the white iPhone 4.” How? They have a DIY kit they’re selling to convert your black iPhone 4 into a white one.

The $229 kit includes the following:

* 1 x iPhone 4 Retina Display
* 1 x White iPhone 4 Front Panel
* 1 x White iPhone 4 Back Cover
* 1 x White iPhone 4 Home Button
* 1 x White iPhone 4 Digitizer (enables touch function)
* 1 x White iPhone 4 Front Panel Support Frame

Now, I have no clue if this is simply a bunch of parts from the black iPhone painted white, or if this site has made their own new parts to house your iPhone in a white case. (I assume the former if they’re including a Retina display — or at least, I hope that’s the case.) Hell, I don’t know basically anything about this site. But if you’re really, really desperate to get that white iPhone first, this may be your best bet.

The site includes a link to an iFixit guide for disassembling your iPhone 4 — this is how you’re going to have to build the phone around these new parts yourself. While the site promises that these are “easy to follow instructions,” the whole process involves some 30-plus steps including unscrewing a bunch of things, and using special tools for others. And that doesn’t include putting it back together. Yeah, it basically sounds like a big pain in the ass.

But for an extra $54 + shipping, WhiteiPhone4Now.com claims that another site, BrokeMyiPhone.com, will do the entire process for you (you include the iPhone 4 and these white parts).

The “Terms of Conditions” page on the WhiteiPhone4Now.com also notes at least one big caveat:

You will need to salvage your current iPhone 4′s front earpiece grill, the back cover’s lens cover and LED diffuser for a “complete look”, but the iPhone 4 will be 100% functional without them. As these small parts are not sold anywhere.

So obviously, this is very much try-at-your-own-risk. But if you’re desperate, this may be a way to go. Or you can just wait a few weeks and save yourself $229 and potentially one giant headache.

WhiteiPhone4Now.com promises to ship the first unit July 8. They’ll be doing so on a first-come-first-serve basis.

After WWDC this year, I got a chance to play with the elusive other color. It’s just like the black iPhone 4, but white!

If you love your Croc shoes, then you’ll be excited by this case that uses that same sort of materials to protect the iPhone 4. These cases add a whole lot of bulk to your iPhone, but you’ll be able to toss around your iPhone to your heart’s content. Plus, for those of you that are clumsy it’ll save your iPhone from that sudden impact when it hits the ground.

Now granted it’ll still leave the touchscreen open to use and that also means it could still be damaged. The overall jarring from a fall will be taken care of though. Plus since it is such a bulky case it can be doubled as a stand. I have no idea how they’ll actually fit inside of your pocket though.

The new Iphone 4 gs stands before the door. Beside an improved camera, a bigger screen and a quicker processor, should tie on the Iphone 4 gs, above all, to the revolution of the first Iphones. Apple brings his new Super-Smartphone in position to repulse the wave in Android mobile phones.

So impressively the Iphone has also been since his start two years ago, it never was without mistake. Regular updates of the Iphone OS have polished some rough edges. Today a lot of that what did iPhone to a revolutionary mobile device is same like two years ago. In 2008 Apple opens his Iphone to platform for external software Programmer and cut the Iphone even more on the needs of his users. During this time the first serious competitors of the Iphone have also originated, Google has published the Android platform and Palm has put on the market his new WebOS operating system. While both platforms have to make up for something, nevertheless, they mark the march direction of the technological progress, and he is called still “Iphone”. The topical Smartphones an iPhone killer would be too simply to be called and too early, it is not also the Motorola Milestone. However, Apple can rest on the other side also not on his laurels. Meanwhile there seems to be every week a new Iphone killer and sometime it will be so far. However, Apple would not be Apple if it was not about the grown competition in the picture. The enterprise works absolutely hard most near Iphone 4 gs, on the next revolution. Which features contribute to the fact that the Iphone maintains 4 gs his poles position? Up to now Apple has carried out important hardware changes in iPhone only one or twice since the original version of the device. But every hardware update has brought considerable improvements, and also for the next Iphone 4 gs of model one can expect an other step forwards. The new Iphone 4 gs will receive a bigger screen. The newest and best iPhone competitor is the Motorola Milestone and many say that 3.7 inches of display with a resolution of 480 x 854 is better than iPhone. With the Iphone 4 gs there will be anyway a display with a higher resolution.

Apple has substantially improved with the Iphone 3GS his built-in camera. Beside 3 Megapixeln, there is a huge number of software Functions, like autofocus, macro-mode and better admissions with bad lighting conditions. Nevertheless, Apple was caught up for a long time by the competition. The Motorola Milestone offers 5 Megapixel to camera with additional functions which the Iphone does not have as for example a picture stabilizer and a flash LED. Apple will have to add in Punkto on camera function with the Iphone 4 gs of model substantially. Another important point is the life span of the accumulator. The Iphone accumulator is relatively good, except one uses Wlan, GPS or starts to play plays on the Iphone. However, nowadays people want to do exactly this. The Iphone accumulator is not better or worse than that of his competitors, indeed, the user’s behaviour is with Smartphones differently than with mobile phones. The people love to use it her Smartphone and the longer they can use it without loading, they are the more contently. His distance to the competition net curtain has worked Apple, above all, by his ext. Iphone user can personalise her Smartphone with more than 100,000 applications. Also the Iphone 4 gs will continue this tradition. With iPhone one can administer contacts, provide appointments and send emails and conceive. However, all these basic functions could be reworked with the Iphone 4 gs. With Android to 2.0 and Palm Pre, one can integrate, for example, contact information from on-line services like Facebook or Xing. Nevertheless, the calendar of the IPhone is especially weak and cannot be synchronised yet with iCal. Also the email could become with the IPhone 4 gs a system so improves which one can fetch emails from several email accounts and administer multiple account about an interface. An improved Exchange support would make the Iphone 4 gs, besides, for enterprise customers more interesting and win additional converts.

What seems for a long time overdue also, a synchronisation of the Iphone is with the computer about Wlan. MobileMe and Exchange user could synchronise in future her contacts and calendar information on the iPhone over the air. Dell introduced only recently with Dell Latitude Z600 a notebook which can be charged absolutely wirelessly. Apple could use the technology straight to give the air of the revolutionaries to the Iphone again. With the Wlan synchronisation users could download contents directly into the IPhone 4 gs from the iTunes net curtain about Wi-Fi. What the present Iphone 3GS lacks clearly is Multitasking and the support of pushing news. It seems inevitable that iPhone 4 gs explaining of several concurrent applications permits, at least for important applications like Mp3 player and Instant Messaging clients. All the same as good the IPhone 4 gs becomes in Puncto hardware and software if the user to no good services receives, one can buy himself as well one iPod air. Apple could loosen the exclusive connection to a certain mobile radio provider with the publication of the IPhone 4 gs. According to analyst Apple could sell about 4% more IPhones worldwide with a free provider’s choice and take a bigger share of the market accordingly also. The wave in new Google Android Smartphones will force Apple sometime to this step. It is only the question, when this will be. In the USA Apple should be according to rumours already in conversations with other mobile radio providers. For Germany one could fancy, the Apple the old Iphone models in trade leaves and expels about alternative mobile radio suppliers, while merely the Iphone 4 gs about the exclusive partner is sold. It is unclear also how long the exclusive contracts generally run. All these improvements would do iPhone 4 gs a Smartphone of the future. It is to be known impossibly what plans Apple, but one certainly: Apple will put on the market this iPhone 4 gs with new, innovative functions sometime next year. Besides, the IPhone 4 gs will be so revolutionary like the first Iphone in January, 2007.

It has a 640 x 360-pixel resolution and support for up to 16 million colors, and it includes an accelerometer that automatically rotates the display based on the orientation of the phone. With a 16:9 aspect ratio and 30 frames-per-second playback and recording, the device is ideal for VGA quality video recording and playback. The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic offers a variety of input methods including a virtual alphanumeric keypad, a virtual computer-style QWERTY keyboard, a pen stylus–and for true music enthusiasts, you can even use a guitar pick.

Making the most of touchscreen technology, the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic delivers easy and fast access to all music, video and photos through a one-touch Media Bar drop down menu. The Media Bar also offers a direct link to the Web and to online sharing. And because the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic supports Flash content, individuals can surf even more of the web. The innovative Contacts Bar lets you highlight four favorite contacts on your home-screen and, through a single touch, track a digital history of recent text messages, emails, phone logs, photos and blog updates.

A dedicated XpressMusic button above the top right corner of the 5800 takes you right to your music. Browse by artist, album and genre, or flick through your playlists. You can also browse, stream and download millions of songs over the air from the Nokia Music store (requires data plan from your carrier). Music playlist song titles can also be shared through Bluetooth, MMS or online sharing. And the newly updated Nokia Music PC software allows for easy drag-and-drop transfer of songs and management of any music collection. Other features include an 8-band graphic equalizer, dedicated volume keys, bass booster, stereo widening, and compatibility with MP3, AAC/AAC+/eAAC+, and WMA digital files. Additionally, you can tune into your favorite radio programs with the stereo FM radio (requires wired headset to be attached).

The Nokia 5800′s camera features a lens made by Carl Zeiss, a world leader in high quality camera lenses. The Zeiss name has been associated with state-of-the-art optics from Hasselblad, Rollei, Yashica, Sony, and Nikon. The 3.2-megapixel camera offers an autofocus lens, 3x digital zoom and dual LED flashes with a red-eye reduction mode. You can also record videos in four resolution modes (with up to a 4x digital zoom), including 640 x 480 pixels (standard TV resolution) and 640 x 352 pixels (widescreen quality)–both at 30 frames per second (fps). You can shoot up to 90 minutes of video, depending on available memory.

After snapping photos or recording videos, you can quickly crop, rotate and touch up your images as well as cut, splice and add a soundtrack to videos. And with a single touch, images or videos can be shared via a favorite online community, such as Share on Ovi, Flickr, or Facebook. Photos and video clips can be enjoyed on a compatible television thanks to the device’s TV out feature and support for Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) technology.

With A-GPS functionality, you’ll be able find your route quickly and easily, whether walking or driving (A-GPS is a network dependant feature that requires a data plan; additional charges may apply). The Nokia Maps application offers richer maps with urban details and satellite views and the ability to search and download information about points of interests, such as restaurants, hotels, companies, travel agencies, airports, and more. It also provides optional upgrades such as City Guides, turn-by-turn pedestrian mode and voice-guided car navigation.

Handsfree communication is easy thanks to the integrated speakerphone. This phone also provides Bluetooth wireless connectivity (version 2.0+EDR), and includes profiles for communication headset, handsfree car kits, and file transfer. With the A2DP Bluetooth profile, you can stream your music to a pair of compatible Bluetooth stereo headphones. You can connect your laptop (either via Bluetooth or wired USB) and enjoy dial-up networking–surf the Internet, send email, and access files from a server (additional charges or subscription applicable).

The N96 has all the bases covered when it comes to messaging. Support is built in for sending and receiving text, video, graphics and sound via messages. It also enables you to check your email on the go (supporting POP3, IMAP4, and SMTP protocols).

Samsung Electronics has unveiled a solar-powered full touchscreen phone called “Blue Earth”.

No eco launch is complete without earthy PR speak, so the Blue Earth is apparently designed to “symbolise a flat and well rounded shiny pebble”.

More importantly, the Blue Earth is the first such phone to the market and charges up via the solar panel on the back of the phone, apparently generating enough electronic power to make a call anytime.

Adding to those green credentials, the Blue Earth is made from a recycled plastic called PCM, which is extracted from water bottles.

Both the handset, and its charger, are free from harmful substances such as Brominated Flame Retardants, Beryllium and Phthalate.

Samsung says the Blue Earth comes with a unique user interface designed “to draw attention to preserving our fragile environment”.

Screen brightness, backlight duration and Bluetooth can all be adjusted in an energy-efficient mode called “Eco mode”.

In addition there’s an “eco walk” function that lets the user count their steps with an in-built pedometer, calculating how much CO2 emissions have been reduced (and therefore how many trees have been saved) by walking as opposed to taking the car.

With recycled packaging, and energy efficient charger, the Samsung Blue Earth will be available in the UK during the second half of 2009.

We’re waiting on more specification information about the handset from Samsung and will update the story when we have it

Trying to pip the crowds at mobile phone expo, Mobile World Congress, Toshiba has announced a new phone that promises to “revolutionise the mobile entertainment world”.

Saying that it “has listened” to what consumers want, the company has announced the TG01 – a slim 4.1-inch wide VGA touchscreen handset that is 9.9mm thick.

“We’ve taken all the technology from our TVs and put that into the screen”, said the company’s manager for UK and Ireland.

Featuring the new Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, the company says the 1GHz chip will be considerably faster than any device on the market.

Users will be able to interact with the device using a virtual trackpad that will appear on screen. Instead of an accelerometer, the phone will use something Toshiba are calling a “G-sensor” that allows you to tilt the phone around a central spot.

On the tech side you’ll get HSDPA 3G and AGPS or GPS connectivity. Elsewhere you will get a microSD card for expanding the 512MB memory and there will be support for DivX.

Sporting Windows Mobile it will come with Microsoft’s Windows Mobile 6.1 and full flash support allowing you to watch any flash video on the phone from the Internet.
